Elopement Frequently Asked Questions

We’re very passionate about what we do! Every Elopement tells a complete story. Hopefully our Elopement FAQ will answer some of your questions and help with the planning process. Don't hesitate to contact us for questions that we didn't answer here and let's start planning your big day!

1What's an Elopement?
Eloping no longer means secretly getting married in a remote location. It's not even about trying to save money, even though in some cases it does! It's about allowing yourselves the opportunity to have a stress-free, one of a kind, incredible, spontaneous experience on the most important day of your lives. A day that is truly about the two of you and no one else! It's about two people committing themselves to each other in the most romantic, intimate way possible- while on an incredible adventure no other couple will ever have but them!
2We are on a tight budget, what's your most affordable option?
Prices start at $200.00 for a custom vow ceremony in your choice of free locations located across this beautiful city of Nashville.
3Do I need to be a resident of the state in which I plan to be married?
No. In fact, you don’t even need to be an American citizen. As long as you are in the country legally and have the appropriate documentation, you can obtain a Tennessee marriage license.
4How do we get a Marriage License?
You can get your marriage license at any county clerk’s office in any county in Tennessee.

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A MARRIAGE LICENSE

• Proof of date of birth such as government issued photo identification

• Proof of Social Security Number, such as social security card or tax document with social security number listed. Passports and birth certificates do not meet this criteria. This requirement is for individuals who have been issued a social security number.

• Both parties must appear together at the 700 2nd Ave South, Suite 101, Nashville, TN 37210 (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., M-F) and must have proof that they are 18 or older. If either party is under the age of 18, they must be accompanied by his/her parents. Tennessee law does not permit those under the age of 16 to marry without a court order.

• The fee for a marriage license is $99.50.

• Cash, debit/credit cards, and money orders are acceptable forms of payment. The County Clerk’s Office does not accept checks for the purchase of a marriage license.

The marriage license is valid for thirty (30) days from issuance and is good for ceremonies performed anywhere in Tennessee.
5What's the best time of day to get married for wedding photos?
If you are using a photographer, about an hour or so before sunset produces even, warm light that's great for backlit photos as well. Once the sun dips just below the horizon, the light's also super even and flattering. This is called the golden hour. With overcast skies (which produce soft, flattering light), any time is the right time!
6Will you come to my location to perform my ceremony?
Yes! Travel fees may apply if ceremony location is outside of a 30 mile radius of Nashville.
7Are you insured?
Absolutely! We carry professional liability coverage.
